The Cerulean Straits, a remarkable LEGO model, beautifully exemplifies teamwork and equal contribution. It is a magnificent four-section build, each quadrant being worthy of independent recognition. Handoko Setyawan showcased his unmatched creativity with his section, “Krak’n Snack.” Using T-Rex pieces ingeniously to bring to life a sashimi expert creature is simply noteworthy. This section offers an engaging story through perfect elements that catch the viewer’s fascination.
Gavin Rich’s section, with its superbly crafted maritime vessels, acts as the perfect stage for a myriad of activities including staging barrels, ship abandonment, and sword fighting.
Rod Fiford’s contribution includes a realistic sandy coastline, complete with a bustling fishing scene and a cozy tavern. His meticulous landscaping dramatically enhances the overall narrative.
The last part from Joshua Morris introduces a well-fortified ‘Imperial’ base, a white coastal fortress that fits seamlessly into the narrative. His detailed design, enhanced by a clay-tiled roof and Spanish mission-like curves, perfectly complements the overall scene.
To sum up, the Cerulean Straits is a brilliant synergy of four distinct yet unified LEGO masterpieces, an undoubtedly deserving commendation to Joshua, Rod, Gavin, and Handoko as the “TBB LEGO Creation of the Year 2023.”
